What affects battery life.
Technically, your car battery should be last you a good three to five years. But, there are a few factors that affect battery life, and here at Towing Service Las Vegas we are well acquainted with that. We get hundreds of calls a year for dead batteries and we always find that warning signs were around the whole time.
Your battery comes with a warranty and a shelf life but we know that your battery life depends on where you live and other factors. The climate where you are will shorten the life of a battery. Extreme hot such as the subtropics or extreme cold such as many of the states we have will also shorten battery life.
Having a garage to store it in that is climate controlled will help extend battery life but not by much. After all, you’ll be out traveling in that snow, won’t you?
Get your battery tested.
At Towing Service Las Vegas you don’t have to risk your car by hoping it gets to a Pep Boys or other garage to test it. We can do it–just sit tight in a safe area and call us. We can also tell at what temperature your battery is likely to fail and how long your battery may last from that point.
What’s the job of your battery?
In simple terms, the battery carries and stabilizes a current to the starter–period the end. But, even though it has one of the most simple jobs of any other parts–without it–the car just doesn’t run.
